The art of molding rubber and silicone parts has no secrets for the Soluroc team.
Over decades, we have developed an in-depth expertise in press molding with transfer and compression molds using a multitude of different elastomeric compounds.
At our plant in La Guadeloupe, Quebec, we operate more than 700 proprietary molds on more than 50 presses of various sizes, including several very large ones.
We can therefore accompany you in the materialization of your OEM-proprietary part concepts of all formats and then ensure mass production according to the needs and requirements of your plant.
We are proud to be able to offer you short production lead times because we work through short manufacturing channels for the sourcing of elastomeric compounds, the design and machining of molds as well as the manufacturing of all types of components to be molded into the parts.
For each of your projects, we will advise you on the best type of rubber or silicone to use according to the nature of the functions your part will have to perform.
We are more than just a simple manufacturing plant and our approach is to accompany you in the development of your concept in order to manufacture the most efficient and economical part possible.
Even if we do not design parts, we will work closely with your design team to get all the information needed to properly identify the material required for the part.
Once the right elastomeric material has been selected, we can also advise you on the moldability of the part’s shape as well as on any metal or other material inserts to be molded into the part.
We work with more than a hundred different elastomeric compounds in our hot vulcanization processes.
These compounds are from several families, either synthetic or natural, each of which offers specific characteristics and advantages for use in certain environments and applications.
For some of our compounds, we use a combination of rubbers from different families in precise proportions to combine the advantages and properties of each, always with the goal of offering you the most efficient and economical part possible.
We can also, in collaboration with our supplier’s chemists, develop custom recipes in order to achieve specific performances such as flame resistance, electrical non-conductivity or resistance to certain chemicals.
In addition to rubber and silicone molded parts, we are also specialists in the production of highly complex molded parts made of several materials.
During the molding process, we can combine rubber and silicone with reinforcement fabrics, ceramic pellets, metal inserts made of steel, stainless steel, chrome carbide, cast iron and even plastic parts.
We supervise the manufacturing of each of these inserts and ensure proper surface preparation and adhesive application in an in-house facility to ensure unparalleled bonding quality.
After they have been hot-vulcanized during the molding process, these various insert materials are permanently bonded to the rubber.
The fifty or so presses we operate come in a variety of sizes to accommodate the manufacture of all sizes of parts for our customers.
The smallest parts can measure a few centimeters and the largest up to a giant format of 68″x 139″.
Most of our production presses are equipped with programmable PLC controllers to ensure repeatability of the molding process and consistent quality from one production run to the next over time.
The PLC manages the molding and curing times of each customer part based on the manufacturing information specific to the part and the type of rubber.
This system therefore allows us to offer a uniform production quality over the years for the same part because there is no possibility of deviation on the molding and curing times.
The parts we manufacture by molding meet RMA-A3 industrial manufacturing standards and tolerances.
